A homeless woman who collects rubbish as a living named Lou Xiaoying aged 88 years old adopted 30 infants who were left and abandoned in the streets of Jinhua in China. She is considered a heroine after her story went viral on social media.
Along with her husband, they raised four of the orphans and some were given out to kind hearted families who are willing to adopt.
It started when she found the first baby girl back in 1972 when she was collecting rubbish. The baby girl is lying on the street and might have dies if Xiaoying had not saved her.
She quoted, “Even though I was already getting old, I could not simply ignore the baby and leave him to die in the trash. He looked so sweet and needy. I had to take him home with me.” the first time she saw the youngest child she adopted.
Lou is now bed ridden in a hospital due to kidney failure and as days goes by, her health is deteriorating.
Because of her selfless acts, it has put government and other organizations that do nothing to shame. Lou did not have the power or money to save the children yet she managed to raise them well.
One thing we can take away from this story is that, she who has less gave more. We hope she serves as an inspiration to everyone.
